Every article on this site carries one byline right now: The Editorial Team. That is on purpose, and it is temporary. A single named author, with a photo and a real bio, is still being finalized. Until that name is set, we will not invent one. This page describes the standard the team writes to. It does not describe a person who does not exist yet.
Why the byline is a team and not a name
We could have dropped a stock headshot and a made-up bio here. Plenty of sites in this niche do exactly that. We chose not to. A fake expert built to look like one confident person is a lie to the reader. It also breaks our own rules. So the byline stays plain: a small group of writers and editors, working from one shared checklist.
When a named author is chosen, this page becomes their profile. That move is a single redirect. None of the standards below change with it.
The standard behind every draft
We write as skeptics, not fans. The honest-negative goes in every review, even for tools we end up recommending. If a tool fails at a task, that failure gets its own line. You will not find a soft "they are both fine" verdict when the real question was which one to buy.
Every specific claim carries a source or a date. Prices show the day we last checked them. A vendor's accuracy number is labeled as the vendor's claim, not as proof. When we have not tested a tool by hand, we say so in plain words. Then we link the protocol we plan to test it against. No implied experience we have not earned.
The useful part goes up top. Your answer sits in the first lines of a section, not four sentences down. Tables carry the side-by-side comparison. The writing carries the judgment.
What you can hold us to
We fix errors in the open and date each correction. We disclose affiliate ties before the first partner link on any page. No vendor gets to edit our verdict. If a review here reads like an ad, we broke our own standard, and we want to hear about it.
Author attribution for this site is still being finalized. Treat this as a working placeholder from the editorial team, not the final author page.
